National Apprenticeship Week - Tia
In celebration of National Apprenticeship Week, we've been catching up some of our apprentices.
Tia is a Business Administration apprentice with The Community Housing Group.
Tia's thoughts on her apprenticeship
"I decided to do an apprenticeship after sitting my a-levels and deciding university wasn’t for me. I still wanted to build and progress in a strong, stable career. I believed that the opportunity to work for the community housing group was perfect as it offered the opportunity to gain qualifications but also the chance of continuing with a career within the business following the completion of my apprenticeship.
My experience being an apprentice for the community housing group has been fantastic, I have enjoyed being able to learn all different aspects of the business, having now had 2 secondments and having worked in 4 different areas of the business I feel I am better equipped to continue a career not only in the community housing group but in any social housing group.
My apprenticeship has helped me in every aspect of my career, it has given me the first hand experience I needed to improve my CV, giving me better opportunities for the future, it has advanced all of the skills I started with, such as; confidence, communication both written and verbal and organisation. I now know how to manage a real life workload in a professional environment. I have also had 2 secondments whilst on my apprenticeship which I believe have helped give me experience within the housing sector as a whole and has opened up many avenues."
